Ta’bir al- Ru’ya is an Arabic name for Islamic dream interpretation. Ruya means dream. During sleep our soul travels to various dimensions that manifest as true dreams. There are 3 distinct type of dreams in Islam, explained below. According to Hadees e Nabwi
“A good dream (that comes true) of a righteous man is one of forty six parts of prophetism”
Sahi Bukhari 6983
The dreams are the channel of direct communication from the Source, ALLAH. Glad tidings, Mubashirat are brought in by good dreams that reassures, revives the hope during tough situations in life. They may bring guidance, truth revelation, reflection of soul path or warning against harm. In part 1, I am explaining the types of dreams, what to do about them and few examples from Prophets lives along with a short snippet of how dreams has always been a game changer in times of darkness and light for me.
Types of Islamic Dreams

According to the authentic narrations from Prophet Muhammad SAW, they makeup the 46th part of prophethood, so whats prophethood? Its the enlightenment of truth. There are 3 categories of Islamic dreams:

These true dreams in Islam refers to different timelines, here I am categorizing them based on 3 timelines.
i. Retrospective/ Past Timeline: As the name suggests they will reveal an event that has already taken place in the past. The purpose is to shed light on why some events took place that might have been traumatic to deal with. The lesson it was suppose to teach, or protect you from harm as everything that shines is not gold.
ii. Current/ Present Timeline: This refers to current situations in your life. An example would be a confusion between two options and which one to select? So your prayers are answered via dream that enlightens you to make the best decision thats aligned with your higher self. That brings peace and harmony in the long run.
iii. Future Timeline / Prospective: Reflection of the future events, glad tidings, reviving hope and overcoming fear of uncertainty. A promise to a prosperous future.

Prophets and Islamic Dream Interpretation

Prophet Yousuf AS: when Yousuf narrated his dream to Hazrat Yaqoob AS, his father. “Indeed I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me”- Quran 12:4. This was a prospective dream where it symbolized a gift of prophethood to him where stars symbolize his siblings, sun- his father, moon – his mother.
Prophet Ibrahim As: a dream about sacrificing his son. “O my drear son! Indeed, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice you, so see what you think”. Son replied: O my dear father! Do as you are commanded. If ALLAH wills, you will find me steadfast”- Quran 37:102.
This symbolizes the depth of faith in Supreme Will, they were tested. This act of performing sacrifice on Eid ul Adha is linked to helping poor, detaching from worldly desires, sublimation of ego self.
Prophet Muhammad SAW: one of the important battles of Islam is Battle of Badr. The dream came as a reassurance/ glad tiding
to muslims as being victorious against their enemies. “Remember when ALLAH showed them to you in your dream as few in
number” -Quran 8:43.
My Dream Journey

My dream journey started since childhood. Simple straightforward visions to more complex and convulated that I had to figure out myself what its trying to tell me. To decode these dreams help was also provided in dreams, hunger for seeking more. I was guided to learn numerology, when I started seeing Angel numbers, then I was guided to learn astrology, energy channeling by tarot, which I did. These three made a solid foundation from the basic to an advance understanding of Islamic dream interpretations. By practicing meditation daily and interacting with clients my psychic powers grew immensely, Alhamdulillah. Its a gift that I never ever anticipated to have but yes you have to earn the rewards by putting in the work, staying loyal to the self and your life purpose. I don’t know what future holds for me but I can surely appreciate where I am today. Challenges doesn’t bother the way they did as alignment to higher self paves the way for deeper faith and trust in ALLAH’s decree, out of illusions into the light.
